Beverly Wendland

Beverly Wendland, PhD, is James B. Knapp Dean of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University, where she previously served as Interim Dean.[1] From 2009 to 2014, Wendland was chair of the Department of Biology[2] and holds a joint appointment in the Department of Biophysics. Dr. Wendland is a specialist in Molecular Mechanisms and Regulation of Endocytic Vesicle Formation; her team works on fundamental cellular processes using yeast cells to study neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.[3]

Dr. Wendland earned a BS in bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego, in 1986 and a PhD in neurosciences from Stanford University in 1993. She joined the Department of Biology at Johns Hopkins in 1998.
