Beverly Lunsford (January 5, 1945) is an American actress. Lunsford was best known as the annoying female nemesis on the television series, Leave it to Beaver.[1]
Early life
Lunsford was born in Atlanta, Georgia who was touted as a highly gifted ingenue.[2]
Career
Lunsford's early career encompassed several stage performances as well as television and movies. She first appeared at the age of 12 in the 1957 Broadway production of The Rope Dancers starring Siobhan McKenna and Art Carney.[3] Lunsford's big-screen work started soon after. She appeared in several anthology dramas, then progressed onto television series like National Velvet, Leave It to Beaver and My Three Sons, in guest roles and supporting parts. She also played the role of Amy Ames Britton Kincaid on The Secret Storm.[4] Lunsford's starring role came in 1961 when she played in Roger Corman's topical drama The Intruder.[5] The film dealt with race relations in the south in the wake of the Brown vs. Board of Education ruling. The movie never received its proper credit and exposure. Lunsford's next appearance was in Herbert L. Strock's horror movie The Crawling Hand in 1963.[6] Lunsford retired in the late 1960s, although she still appears at various public celebrity-oriented events.
