Betway is a global gaming company that operates in markets across the world. Betway Sportsbook, Betway Casino, Betway Vegas, Betway Bingo and Betway Poker all operate under the Betway Group banner.[1]
History
Launched in early 2006 providing entertainment across the spectrum of sports betting, casino and poker, Betway is an online gaming brand with over two million customers globally.[2]
Betway is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission[3] and the Malta Gaming Authority.[4]
The firm also holds licenses in Spain,[5] Germany, Denmark,[6] Belgium and Italy.[7]
It is registered with the Independent Betting Adjudication Service.[8]
Betway's site is available in 15 different languages with a dedicated customer support team, available in 17 languages, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Sponsorships
Betway has sponsored a number of sporting events. Their first event was the boxing fight at Wembley Stadium between Carl Froch and George Groves.[9] They also sponsored the 2014 Fish-o-Mania event[10] and in February 2014 were announced as the sponsor of the Premier League Darts.[11] The latter in a three-year deal to include the 2014, 2015 and 2016 contests.[12]
From 2015 Betway branched out into horse racing sponsorship and along with the prestigious Queen Mother Champion Chase race at the Cheltenham Festival,[13] they also have a number of flat meetings and big races being run under their name across the year.[14]
These include the Lincoln Handicap, the Chester Cup, the Great Voltigeur Stakes and the Yorkshire Cup (horse race).
On February 6, 2015 it was announced that Betway would be taking over the sponsorship of West Ham United FC in a deal thought to be worth over £15million and set to last until the end of the 2017/18 season[15][16]
Betway was announced as snooker’s UK Championship sponsor in April 2015, following on from earlier deals to sponsor March’s World Snooker’s Shoot-Out tournament and the World Seniors Championship at the Blackpool Tower Circus Arena[17][18]
The bookmaker also announced in April 2015 that Sky Sports presenter Sarah Stirk had signed up as a golf ambassador for the company.[19]
In April 2015 Mike Tindall became a brand ambassador for Betway. Tindall will feature in the firm’s advertising and promotional materials as well as some media appearances. He will also provide unique content for Betway’s blog in the run-up to the World Cup, the autumn internationals and next year’s Six Nations.[20]
