For current information see 2013 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference football season

College football began at Bethany in 1893 when the college played two games and finished with a record of one win and one loss. The school played two games again in 1894, then did not field a team until 1901 when the program produced five wins, two losses, and one tie. As of completion of the 2009 season, Bethany has managed to win 475 games, lost 363, and 31 games ended in a tie.[1]

The current (2011) coach of the schools football program is Jamie Cruce, and he is in his fifth season at the helm.[2] Former coach Ted Kessinger was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2010[3] and former coach Bennie Owen was inducted in 1951.[4]

Golf (men's)

The Bethany College men's golf team held one of the longest winning streaks in all of college sports; winning the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship from 1994–2005. The 2011–2012 golf team was suspended for three tournaments due to a semi-nude photo posted on Facebook before the season.

Tennis (men's)

Bethany men's tennis team has won 46 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference championships, including a streak of 26 KCAC titles in a row. The men currently have won 34 straight KCAC matches in a row, undefeated in the last 5 years of conference play.
