Bernard Zuel

Bernard Zuel (born 21 January 1965, Rose-Hill, Mauritius) is an Australian music journalist. Zuel has written for Fairfax Media newspapers The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald since 1992.[1] As of August 2013, he is the senior music writer and reviewer for Fairfax Media. Zuel is a judge of the Australian Music Prize award.

Early life and education

Andre Bernard Zuel was born on 21 January 1965 in Rose-Hill, Mauritius.[2][3] His father, Andre Cyril Zuel (born 4 November 1939), was from Curepipe and his mother, Marie Irelande (born 11 August 1938) was from Quatre Bornes.[2][3] His younger sister, Marie Roxane, was born on 9 July 1967.[3] His family relocated to Australia by the early 1970s and settled in Sydney.[2][3]
