Bergen University College (Norwegian: Høgskolen i Bergen or HiB) is a Norwegian public institution of higher education, established in August 1994 by the merging of six former independent colleges in Bergen, Norway. The total number of students is about 7300, and there are 750 academic and administrative staff.[1]

It provides professional education within health and social sciences, engineering, economic and administrative science, music and teaching. It offers education on bachelor and master level, continuing education, and on doctoral level.

HiB emphasizes professional studies, but also offers postgraduate programs through the doctoral level in some fields, and currently has six research centers [2] to support its specialized postgraduate programs, providing opportunities for PhD research:
