Benny Travas

Benny Travas is a Roman Catholic priest in Karachi, Pakistan.

Since 2012 he has been the rector of the St. Pius X Minor Seminary in Karachi.

He has also been the Vicar-General of the Archdiocese of Karachi and Vice President of the Catholic Board of Education.[1]

On June 13, 2014 Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Bishop Andrew Francis of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Multan, in accordance with canon 401 para. 2 of the Code of Canon Law, and appointed Rev. Benny Travas as Apostolic Administrator.[2]

As Apostolic Administrator of Multan, Travas will govern the diocese in the name of the Supreme Pontiff.[3]

Travas is known for his service as a parish priest in Karachi. He was also a professor of canon law at the National Catholic Institute of Theology in Karachi.[4]
