Benny R. Powell

Benny R. Powell (December 10, 1973)^[1] is an author and businessman residing in Clermont, Florida. Mr. Powell is principal of Active Media Printing and CEO and Secretary of Red Giant Entertainment, a transmedia company. He formerly wrote for Marvel Comics and also served as the head marketing writer for Priceline.com in the company's early days.^[2]

Comics

Red Giant's Giant-Size Comics is a print comic book line of free, ad-supported anthology titles which debuted on May 3, 2014 as part of Free Comic Book Day^[3] These Giant Sized comics are larger than traditional comics (64 pages rather than 32 pages).^[4] The company plans to circulate one million copies per week of each Giant-Size issue to comic book specialty shops and more mainstream stores.^[5]

He founded (and was Editor-In-Chief) Bench Press Studios in 1998 and worked with Hasbro on the resurgence of Transformers and G.I. Joe properties. Mr. Powell has received five Squiddy Award nominations. He was the second youngest writer at Marvel, second only to Stan Lee. ^[6]

Marketing

Benny worked at Priceline as head marketing writer. He worked as global marketing writer for IBM. He produced television and advertising materials for Dynetech in Orlando.^[2]

Personal life

Benny married Jenna Mcclure Jones who also works for Active Media Printing, Red Giant and Glass House Graphics^[8] on July 2, 2014.^[9] They are expecting their first baby together in Q1 2015. He has children from a previous marriage.
