Benjamin Peary Pal
Benjamin Peary Pal also known as B.P.Pal. (May 26, 1906- September 14, 1989) was the first Director of Indian Council of Agricultural Research. He was one of the foremost scientists in Wheat genetics and breeding. He did BSC and MSC from Rangoon University and did his Ph.D. from Cambridge University. He was elected a fellow of the Royal Society in 1972. He was a bachelor and donated his property to the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1987.[1][2][3]
