Ben Judd (producer)

Ben Judd (born October 25, 1974 in Centerville, Ohio) is the Director of Business Development at Digital Development Management[1] (DDM) Agency (the world's leading business and talent agency for video games) acting as head of DDM Japan. Ben was formerly head of globalization for Capcom Japan, where he was a video game producer, and former translator/voice actor for the same company. He is also given much recognition for being a major keystone in the revival of the Bionic Commando franchise, a classic video game franchise known for its unique swinging mechanics and lack of a jump button.

Judd has contributed his voice to various roles for Capcom, including the English voice of Phoenix Wright in the Ace Attorney series.[2]

During the later half of 2008, he made several appearances in Sweden overlooking the production of the 3D Sequel to Bionic Commando. He was also one of many regulars on the Top Secret: Bionic Commando Podcast.[3] At the Tokyo Game Show 2008, he allowed himself to be interviewed while sporting only a white bathrobe.[4] Ben Judd himself has stated that he has some skills in GoGo Dancing.[5]

His first released title as a producer, Bionic Commando: Rearmed, reportedly sold over 130,000 digitally distributed copies across 3 platforms (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC) during the launch week.[6] However, his big budget follow-up Bionic Commando for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (20 million USD according to the development studio's CEO), was a major financial flop, selling only 27k in the first month.

During his less known years, Judd has worked on the translation staff and localization teams of Dead Rising, Onimusha 3: Demon Siege and as far back as the original Viewtiful Joe and P.N.03.[7] His other voice actor work include in the English version of Onimusha 3: Demon Siege,[8] God Hand and Resident Evil Outbreak.[9]
