Bellevue Transit Center (Link station)

Bellevue Transit Center Station will be an underground Sound Transit East Link light rail station in the city of Bellevue, Washington. It is expected to open along with the section of the line through Overlake Transit Center Station in 2023.

Location

Bellevue Transit Center Station will be in or adjacent to a tunnel underneath 110th Ave NE in Downtown Bellevue, near the existing Bellevue Transit Center.[1] The precise station location, orientation, and access points remain the subject of considerable controversy. The ballot measure that approved East Link in 2008 only included money for the Downtown Bellevue portion of the route to be at-grade, so external funding sources would have to pay for the tunnel, which would cost approximately $500 million more than the at-grade option.[2]
