Background
In June 2014, Bellator MMA underwent significant change in their executive ranks. Founder and CEO Bjorn Rebney parted with the company.[1] Former Strikeforce founder Scott Coker was announced as the new President of Bellator MMA.[2] As a result of the changes, it was announced that Bellator MMA would drop the weekly, seasonal format in 2015 and instead focus on larger, individual events per month.[3]
