Beighton Miners Welfare F.C. was an English association football club based in Beighton, Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
History
The club was formed at the back end of the 19th century. As Beighton Recreation, they won the Hatchard League title twice (one being shared) just after the First World War. In 1925 they were renamed Beighton Miners Welfare.
Welfare reached the First Round of the FA Cup in 1953, where they were beaten by Wrexham at Millmoor.[1] During this era they were also members of the Yorkshire League and won the prestigious Sheffield Senior Cup on two occasions.
