Bedros Kapamajian

Bedros Kapamajian (Armenian: Պետրոս Քափամաճեան) (1840 - Van 1912), was an Armenian citizen of the Ottoman Empire, a textile trader, and mayor of the town of Van.[1]

During the Second Constitutional Era of the Ottoman Empire, Kapamajian was appointed the mayor of Van on February 2, 1908.[2] The Armenian Revolutionary Federation accused Kapamajian of being a puppet of the Ottoman Government.[3] According to Turkish sources, he was allegedly assassinated by Aram Manukian and his ARF fellows in 1912.[4] Historian Hasan Oktay states that they were arrested "as encouragers for the murder."[5] He
