Beaconsfield, Queensland

Beaconsfield is a suburb of Mackay Region, Queensland, Australia.[1] It is located 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north of Mackay. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 4,934.[2]

History

The suburb was named after the Beaconsfield sugar plantation. It had a sugar crushing mill from about 1882 to 1893.[3]

The Mackay Golf Club was established in 1928. It is located on the Mackay-Buchasia Road.[4]

Beaconsfield State School was opened on 1 January 1999.[5]
