The bay-capped wren-spinetail (Spartonoica maluroides) is a species of bird in the Furnariidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Spartonoica.[2]

It is found in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. Its natural habitats are swamps and intermittent saline marshes. It is threatened by habitat loss.
