Battle Robot Retsuden (バトルロボット烈伝 Robot Battle Retsu Tsutae)[4] is a Japan-exclusive video game that was released in 1995 for the Super Famicom.

The player controls a huge mecha that has to fight other mecha.[5] One of its critical points is that the dialogue is excessive large for a strategy game.[6] Combating some sort of evil empire, the player has to battle robots by either punching them or using weapons at them.[6] Players can either directly control their mech or relegate the operation of the robot to the AI.[6]

System overview

The maps are divided into a vast "strategic action" map and a "local strategic" map. The strategic actions are located in both the friends' and enemies' map with a "mother ship" that is organized into five-minute units and aircraft. "Platoons" appear when three units are merged. By contact with the enemy troops and aircraft, these platoons are moved to the actual maps to do battle tactics. The leveling up of units and weapon modifications are done in both the "strategy" and "action" maps.

The tactics maps are used to operate the camera unit of the platoon leader, otherwise the AI will act with autonomy. With the AI cooperation option, the player has to wait in order to do specific tasks like individual commands.

Traditional squares for unit movement are used instead of hexagons. Each unit can be told to face in six possible directions; affecting their line of sight. The direction and the direction of enemy units, unlike the amount of damage from enemy attacks from behind the increase as. Most units move on foot. However, there is also air movement through hovering; which is affected by the topography.

The order of action units, TP come around in order of ascending numerical status. Moreover, TP in addition to AP figures that move or attack to consume this number and make defense. The number of actions in his turn is variable, AP can act as many times until exhausted.
