Battle River Generating Station is a coal fired station owned by ATCO Power, located near Forestburg, Alberta, Canada. Fuel is provided by the Paintearth and Vesta coal mines operated by Prairie Mines & Royalty Ltd.[1]
Unit 1 and 2 were retired in 2000.[2]
Description
Unit 1 and 2 were each 32 MW units and operated from 1954 until 2000 when they were retired. Units 3 and 4 are each 149 and 155MW units while unit 5 is a 385 MW unit.[3]
The plant features two large smokestacks, 161 m (528 ft) and 137 m (450 ft) in height.
