Batchworth was a village in Hertfordshire, England. It is situated at the junction of the A404 and A4145 roads, now part of Rickmansworth. The Grand Union Canal passes through the village.
Facilities and events
Several local organisations take their name from the village. Batchworth Sea Scouts have their headquarters alongside the canal.[2] The Batchworth Dragons dragon boat club were born out of the scout group and competes at a national and international level. Batchworth Park Golf Club is based a short distance from the canal.[3] The Batchworth Canal Centre is also based alongside the Grand Union lock and is home to the Rickmansworth Waterways Trust who run a visitors centre, working heritage boat and a small outdoor cafe at the site. They also coordinate the annual Rickmansworth Canal Festival.[4]
