Geography
Baskhari is located at 25°51′N 79°49′E / 25.85°N 79.82°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 118 metres (387 feet).
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Baskhari had a population of 10,632. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Baskhari has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 59%. In Baskhari, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Main Market
Baskhari is famous for fruit market and Medical stores in the center district. Also famous for its station before reaching the famous Shrine of Sufi Saint Hazrat Makhdoom Simnani which is approx. 2 K.M from here. Baskhari lies on the highways of Faizabad and Azamgarh. You can easily find UPT buses for Delhi, Rajesultanpur Lucknow, Kanpur, and Azamgarh, Gorakhpur. Baskahri is the main Police Station and Post office for the surrounding area. A cinema hall is also here at Jalalpur Road named Vijay Palace,manger-vijay verma(mathur). A good restaurant is also here at main chauk named Zayka restaurant. Seth Devaki Nandan Seth and Sons sarraf jewellery shop is situated in main market Baskhari. A Cold storage 'Ajay sheetalay' is also there which is 2 km away from the main market in village-Budhnapur(motigarpur),director-Vishal verma(Ajay kumar).

The village also offer the facilities of few banks and ATM aka Cash Machines. The oldest bank here is Bank Of Baroda which is based on Jalalpur Road, having ICICI Bank in the same premises including ATM facility with 24 Hrs.
