Basketball at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro will be held from 6 to 21 August 2016. The preliminary and knockout matches for both men and women will be played inside the first hall of the Olympic Training Center in Olympic Park which seats up to 16,000 spectators.
Qualification
The National Olympic Committees may enter up to one 12-player men's team and up to one 12-player women's team. FIBA will issue their decision on giving the Brazilian Basketball Confederation an automatic berth as hosts by 30 June 2015.[1]
