Bashkir State University (Russian: Башкирский государственный университет) is located in Ufa, Bashkortostan, Russia, founded in 1909, is among the top 10 classical universities of Russia.

History

Bashkir State University is a shining example of a classical higher education establishment, and classical education has always been of value under any conditions. People who have received good classical education will be able to realize themselves equally in science, business or state service. It is more so for our University does not rest on its laurels, but is constantly developing, which means it introduces new prospective majors, increases the size of its educational and laboratory areas, introduces new technologies. Over the last few years Bashkir State University has become a large center for postgraduate studies which provides for successful operating of postgraduate courses in 56 scientific majors and doctoral courses in 8 scientific majors. There are 10 doctoral and 3 candidate dissertation councils which are responsible for defense and awarding academic degrees in 23 majors.Bashkir State University provides opportunities not only to receive quality knowledge and master professional skills, but also to live a bright, exciting and active life. In a way that current BashSU students do who are members of numerous creative teams and student associations.

Bashkir State University is proud to be called the first higher education institute in Bashkortostan. It is home to many famous Bashkirian, as well as Russian scientists, researchers, mathematitians, economists, poets. It is especially strong in Organic Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Philology, Information Technologies, Geophysics, and petroleum engineering. Many prominent applied mathematicians and physicists were among the faculty at Bashkir State University at different times, including Academicians Nikolay Bogolyubov, Alexei Leontiev, Valentin Napalkov and Professor of Philology Gabdulkhay Kh. Akhatov.

In Ufa (from 1941 to 1943) Academician Bogolyubov developed his famous method of averaging. It is no wonder that the Department of Mathematics at Bashkir State University and the Ufa Institute of Mathematics with Computing Center are among the best Russian schools in Applied Mathematics and Pure Mathematics, particularly, in the fields of asymptotic and perturbation methods as well as analytical function theory and complex analysis.

  5. Hasanov Mars Magnavievich - Dr. Sc., Professor, Scientific Director of JSC "Rosneft".
  6. Gazetdinova, Ilsiyar Ibragimovna - People's Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan, People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Honored Artist of the Russia.
  7. Iskandarova Hanif Sirazhevna (born 20 March 1928) - high school teacher Arkaulovskoy (Salavatsky District, BASSR), Hero of Socialist Labor. Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the eighth, ninth Legislature (1970-1979). National Teacher of the USSR (1982). Honored teacher schools of the RSFSR (1967).
  8. Mukhamet Kharrasov was a Rector of the Bashkir State University (2000-2010).The deputy of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan.
  9. Hadiya Davletshina was a Bashkir poet.
  10. Khairulla Murtazin is a Russian mathematician.
  11. Rinad Yulmukhametov is a Russian mathematician.
