Bas-Sassandra
Bas-Sassandra is one of twelve administrative districts of Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire). It was created in 2011 from the former region of Bas-Sassandra with the addition of the department of Fresco, which was transferred from Sud-Bandama region.[1] The district's capital is San-Pédro. The District of Bas-Sassandra is divided into three regions: Nawa (capital: Soubré), San-Pédro (capital: San-Pédro), and Gbôklé (capital: Sassandra).
Former region
Prior to 28 September 2011, Bas-Sassandra was one of the nineteen regions of Côte d'Ivoire, and it covered 25,800 km². The region was divided into four departments: San Pédro, Sassandra, Soubré, and Tabou.
