Barys Arena (Kazakh: Барыс Арена) is a multi-purpose indoor arena currently under construction, located in Astana, Kazakhstan.[1] It will replace the Kazakhstan Sports Palace as the home arena of the Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The arena will seat 12,000 spectators for ice hockey.[2] Arena will open in 2015–16 KHL season, as the KHL's president Alexander Medvedev said at the press-conference during the 2014 KHL All-Star Game.[3]
