Barrie M. Osborne (born February 7, 1944) is a film producer, executive producer, production manager and director.

Biography

The son of Hertha Schwarz and William Osborne, Barrie was born in New York City[1] and grew up in New Rochelle, New York where he graduated New Rochelle High School.[2] He is an alumnus of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota and currently lives in Wellington, New Zealand.

Osborne's most notable work is The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King for which he was the recipient of the Oscar Award the Academy Award for Best Picture, which he shares with Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh. He also produced the 2013 The Great Gatsby remake, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby.[3] Along with Christian Keller [4] as film director, together with Hollywood awarded Alan B. Curtiss,[5] and Mexican entrepreneur Max Appedole,[6] Osborne[7] is preparing a major Latin film with the production of "GLORIA",[8][9] a biopic about the life of controversial Mexican pop star Gloria Trevi.

Osborne is also preparing a possible movie trilogy about the Viking king Harald Hardrada.[10]
