Barr-Reeve Junior/Senior High School is a public school located in Montgomery, Indiana serving Barr and Reeve Townships and is located in southeastern Daviess County. The school is a consolidation of Alfordsville and Montgomery High Schools and opened in 1965.
Barr-Reeve is also only one of two public schools in Indiana to boast a perfect 100% graduation rate for both the 2009-2010, and 2010-2011 school years. Barr-Reeve is also widely regarded as one of the finest public schools in America. The Indiana Department of Education gave Barr-Reeve an 'A' letter grade for their elementary, high school, and corporation wide achievement in 2013.
Athletics
The school's athletic mascot is the Vikings, and it participates in the Blue Chip Conference. Barr-Reeve is an IHSAA 1A school. Barr-Reeve also boasts three State Champions. Connor Sorrells won the 2012-13 Cross Country State Championship, the Volleyball team under coach Amber DeCoursey won the 2013-14 State Championship with a 38-2 record, and the basketball team under coach Bryan Hughes won the 2014-15 State Championship with a 27-2 record.
