Barnyard is a 2006 party-oriented adventure game based on the movie of the same name. It was released on August 1, 2006 for the Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2, Game Boy Advance, and PC. A Wii version was released on November 19, 2006. There was going to be an Xbox version, but it was later cancelled due to low sales for the system.

Gameplay

The game has various different accounts of gameplay from missions to a mini-game type system.

Missions

Within the game there is a storyline which fits the movie to some extent but still goes along its own path. Characters die and are introduces as the game progresses as in the movie. Missions fit the storyline of the game and the movie and vary a lot. A lot of missions once completed become minigames which you can play again. Missions can be received through talked to characters or through the phone inside the knapsack (inventory)

Mini-Games

Mini-Games most often become available once completing missions (as stated above) but may also become available in the barn. The missions vary in many ways from Golf to Jumping and Kicking a pipe at one another to stay alive.

The Barn

During the day, the barn is a boring place where you can acquire some resources for cooking but, at night, the barn becomes a lively place where you can party, make mocktails and play minigames. The barn is very customisable through the gopher shop, a shop obtained mid to early game located just outside the main area.

Collections

Within the game there are many forms of objects to collect Secrets: Are note hidden on trees and fences with tips for the game Recipe Rocks: Provide recipe's for the Kitchen at the back of the barn and the Mocktail bar within the bar (Only available at night.) Recipe's can be guessed but require a lot of recources to do so as there are many recipe's and ingredients. Golden Coins: Golden coins can be collected and placed in coin dispensers so that they can get gopher coins for the gopher shop.

Characters

You play as a cow called Otis which you may customize vaguely, only changing the skin color. You may also change the name although it only shows up in text in game and the characters call you "Newcomer" until later in the game.

Continuity Errors

• There is a hill you can approach called "Ben's Hill" early in the game but it is not named so until later in the game when the character "Ben" dies.
