The Barbasol Championship is a professional golf tournament scheduled to be played for the first time on the PGA Tour in 2015 as an alternative event for the 2015 Open Championship. The tournament will be played on the Grand National course of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Opelika, Alabama.[1]
It is the first PGA Tour event played in Alabama since the 1990 PGA Championship. A sponsor exemption into the 2015 event was one of the prizes given to the winner of The Big Break.
Like other alternate events, the winner of the Barbasol Championship does not earn an invitation to the Masters, but still receives a two-year PGA Tour exemption and a trip to the PGA Championship.
