Barbadians or Bajans are people originating on the Caribbean island of Barbados whether they live there or in the Barbadian diaspora.
Diaspora
Many Barbadians now live overseas and outside of Barbados, the majority have migrated to Anglophone countries, including 34,340 Barbadians in Canada, some 21,601 in the United Kingdom and around 54,509 Barbadians in the United States. In addition to Anglophone countries other groups of Barbadians have moved to Latin countries including: Brazil, Cuba[3]and Panama.[4][5]
In 1865, 346 immigrants from Barbados arrived in Liberia, and became part of the Americo-Liberian ethnic group which dominated that country for more than a century.[6]
