The Baojun 630 is a Chinese four-door sedan and was the first car produced by the SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) joint venture sold under the Baojun marque and is manufactured in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang, China.[2] It was launched at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show,[3] and went on sale in August 2011.[4]
The car was developed at the SAIC-GM Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) in Shanghai.[5] While not visually similar to other GM cars, it has been suggested that the 630 is based on the Buick Excelle/Daewoo Lacetti platform.[6]
In 2014 the car debuted in Egypt and Algeria as Chevrolet Optra.[7]
Specification
The 630 is powered by a 109 bhp (81 kW; 111 PS) 1.5 L engine producing 108 lb·ft (146 N·m) and mated to a five-speed transmission. A 1.8 L version was added to the range in November 2012.[8]
The car is 4,597 mm (181.0 in) long, sits on a 2,640 mm (103.9 in) wheelbase and weighs 1,206 kg (2,659 lb).[9]

The 630 is based on what GM likes to refer to as Mature Technology, which is generally PR speak for older well used tech that is not quite past its sell by date and still highly useable, the platform in question is rumored to be the older Buick Excelle platform that was first designed in GM Korea.
