Baniyas District
Baniyas District (Arabic: منطقة بانياس) is a district (mantiqah) administratively belonging to Tartus Governorate, Syria. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 176,351.[1] Its administrative centre is the city of Baniyas.
Sub-districts
The district of Baniyas is divided into seven sub-districts or Nāḥiyas (population according to 2004 official census):
- Baniyas Nahiyah (ناحية بانياس): population 94,832.[2]
- Al-Rawda Nahiyah (ناحية الروضة): population 11,688.[3]
- Al-Annazah Nahiyah (ناحية العنازة): population 18,446.[4]
- Al-Qadmus Nahiyah (ناحية القدموس): population 22,370.[5]
- Hammam Wasel Nahiyah (ناحية حمّام واصل): population 8,522.[6]
- Al-Tawahin Nahiyah (ناحية الطواحين): population 10,024.[7]
- Talin Nahiyah (ناحية تالين): population 8,351.[8]
