National Film Awards (Bengali: জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কার) is the most prominent film award ceremony in Bangladesh. Established in 1975 by the Government of Bangladesh,[1] The National Film Awards are the only film awards given by the government itself.[1] Every year, a national panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry, and the award ceremony is held in Dhaka. 1987 was the 13th year National Film Awards.[2]
