Bangarmau is a city and a municipal board in Unnao district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.It is situated on the left bank of Kalyani, about 49 km north-west of Unnao and 22 km north-west of Safipur on the Unnao-Hardoi road.
History
Bangarmau is very old city,Now a big Tehsil of District Unnao.Bangarmau is connected to Delhi(415)Lucknow(65 km),Kanpur(70 km),Unnao(50),Hardoi(65)Bareilly(197)By Highways.There is very Old Temple Named "BABA Bodheswar" situated in west of city. There is Degree College Named "Indra Gandhi Government PG College".This College was established by the efforts of Late. Shri Pt.Gopi Nath Dixit,[1][2][3][4] Home Minister of UTTAR PRADESH for providing the higher education to rural and most backward area in July 1988. The college is situated at Kanpur- Hardoi state highway. It is 50 km. away form UNNAO headquarter. Bangarmau is a pilgrim center, Mentioned in U.P. Tourism Deptt. Here a TANTRIK temple namely "Raj Rajeshwari Mandir" established 200 years ago. Near by Bangarmau "Sanchan Kot", a place of historical importance, where recently Archeological Survey of India excavated a 2000 years old "Shiv Temple". It consists of all the three streams i.e. Arts, Science & Commerce. Post Graduation classes also started from 1998-99 in three subjects Hindi, Sociology & Economics. This is a very old city,also referred in BABAR NAMA and nearby a village NEWAL is linked to the references made by the Chinese traveler and Buddhist scholar-Hieun Tsang in early days.The city of Bangarmau is also having the great Raj Rajeshvari temple & Dargah of Meer Salahuddin Shah (Meera Baba) even today in good condition. Bangarmau comes in the area of influence of famous Sufi Saint Madar Shah of Madaria sect. There are several names of villages named after him, situated around Bangarmau.Bangarmau is great place of king malayawan.
