History

Bandaimachi Station opened on July 15, 1899 as Ōdera Station (大寺駅 Ōdera-eki). It was renamed to its present name on June 1, 1965. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987.
