Balderton railway station

Balderton railway station was a minor railway station serving the village of Balderton in Cheshire, England. It was located on a line from Chester, to Wrexham General on a line now known as the Shrewsbury to Chester Line. The 53y Balderton Tunnel is just south of the site and there is an adjacent automatic half-barrier (AHB) level crossing at the site today.

The Eaton Hall Railway met the GWR line at Balderton.

History

The station was opened by the Great Western Railway, and stayed with that company during the Grouping of 1923.The line then passed on to the Western Region of British Railways on nationalisation in 1948. It was then closed by British Railways.
