Balaji Institute of Telecom and Management (BITM Pune) is an autonomous telecom business management school in Pune, India. BITM has an 'A++' Grade from the AICTE. The management institute is run by the Sri Balaji Society, Pune.
History
Balaji Institute of Telecom and Management (BITM) was established in 2002 with a focus on the dynamic needs of industry (especially telecom) in the ever-changing business environment and is driven by powerful forces of technological innovation, intense competition and globalization. It has been ranked third amongst the top B-Schools in Telecom & Management in India by Outlook magazine[1] and rated as 'A++' Grade B-School in India by Business India.[2]

BITM trains its student managers to become the enablers of tomorrow's world. It strives to transform individuals into multifaceted, multi-skilled, multilingual, dynamic, well-groomed and well-trained corporate citizens through intense training with a variety of course specializations: Telecom, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Systems, with a focus on IT and Telecom Management. The programmes are to make the students compatible and enabled for all sectors of the industry and cater to the niche segment of the ever-changing and dynamic telecom industry.
Campus
The combined campus of Sri Balaji Society, Pune is spread over a 14.5-acre (59,000 m2) area overlooking the city of Pune. The BITM campus is on Mumbai-Bangalore Pass Highway. Apart from the state-of-the-art classrooms and conference halls, the campus has facilities which include:
- A Central Library which has over 100,000 books, reports, journals, periodicals, CDs and video cassettes.
- Separate in-campus hostels for boys and girls with all the necessary amenities.
- An auditorium which is used to host national and international events.
- A health care centre, which has an on-call doctor.
- A multi-cuisine canteen and mess which offer plenty of options in dining.
- A recreational centre, gymnasium and swimming pool to help students relax and rejuvenate.
Programmes offered
BITM Pune offers two-year PGDM programmes (approved by AICTE) for residential students.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Telecom: Two-year full-time
- PGDM in Telecom and Marketing: Two-year full-time
- PGDM in Marketing & Finance: Two-year full-time
Admission procedure
The selection of the students for the two-year residential PGDM programme is on the basis of CAT Test, group discussion and personal interview.
