Baked & Wired

Baked and Wired is a bakery and coffeehouse in Georgetown that opened in 2001.[1] They specialize in baking cupcakes, but they have a much wider range of baking, including "hand pies", cookies, donut muffins, quiches, brownies and the like. When the cupcake boom ends, Baked and Wired will still have a substantial business.

They are located a few blocks away from Georgetown Cupcake, and locals walking by the long lines sometimes advise tourists to try Baked and Wired instead. Many locals consider Baked & Wired more of an "insider" choice, especially for those who live in Georgetown, whereas Georgetown Cupcake is more of a tourist phenomenon. [2]
