Post-election

Günther Oettinger stayed on Minister-President, in a CDU-FDP coalition, after a CDU-Green coalition had also been considered (for the first time in this state).

On November 27, 2007, Oswald Metzger, elected in Biberach, formally ended his membership in the Alliance '90/The Greens, but stayed in the Landtag without a faction until, on February 18, 2008, Eugen Schlachter (member of Alliance '90/The Greens) took his seat, thus bringing the Greens faction to 17 seats again. Metzger then joined the CDU.
