Badagada (also Bada-Gada) is a small town in the Sorada Block in the Ganjam district of Odisha, India.

Etymology

Badagada means big fort.

Location

Badagada is located on the banks of the River Jarau, about 16km from Surada and 78km from Berhampur. It is connected by road to Surada and & Sheragada by the state highway no 36. It is part of the Surada assembly constituency and the Aska Parliamentary constituency.

Transportation

Daily bus service is available to Berhampur, Aska, Surada, Shergada and Bhubaneswar. The nearest rail station is at Berhampur(78 km), while the nearest airport is in Bhubaneswar (220km).

Economics

The main income of the town is from agricultural produces and wood related items. The town is famous for its Brinjals, mangoes and other agriculture produce.
