Badhaber is a village in Peshawar District, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is situated on Kohat road, and some 10 kilometres away from the main Peshawar city.[1]
Badhaber is the location of the Badhaber refugee camp and jail, established in February 1980,[1] which was the site of the Badhaber Uprising in 1985, where Soviet and Afghan captives staged an armed revolt in an attempt to escape. Some other villages like Sheikh Mohammadi, Darra, Bazi Khel, Kaga wala, are situated near there. Hoorizai, khalil, momand and many other casts of people are living there, Peshawar Air Station was built in Badhaber in 1958, from which the 1960 Gary Powers U-2 mission was coordinated. The people of Badhaber are very educated. The people of Badhaber are very brave and loyal. P.A.F camp of Badhaber is also known as "Little Canada".
Masy years ago British people were living in Badhaber and there was a big tree "ber" under the shadow of which the visitor people use to take rest and therefor its name is also Badhaber which was given to it by their own people at that time. It is a place for hospitality.
