Backyard Football '08 (known simply as Backyard Football for the Nintendo DS and Wii) is a fifth title in the Backyard Sports series and was released on September 26, 2007 for the Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, and PC. This is the first Backyard Football Game to be released on the Nintendo DS. All 32 teams from the NFL to virtual reality. In season mode you can play the 16 games in 17 weeks and try winning the Backyard Bowl.

The stadiums in Backyard Football are: School, Neighborhood, Park, Brickyard place, Webber, Carnival, Resort, Hard Hat, Castle(Locked), Humungo Dome(Locked),

Just like the real NFL, you can choose multiple strategies.

In the game you can use power moves by pressing C in the nunchuk whaen saying to: Offensive: Twister, Spiral Dive, Flash, Forward Flip, Stun Arm, Bull Charge Defensive Glue Ball, Homing Interception, Grease Ball, Homing Tackle

IGN rated the Wii version of the game a 6/10 and criticized it for having controls that may be hard for a younger audience to understand, while praising its commentary for being funny.[8]
