The BD Somani International School is an International Baccalaureate and IGCSE certified school in Mumbai, India. It is located in the Cuffe Parade area in South Mumbai. It was the first IB school set up in South Mumbai.
It was opened in July, 2006 and runs the IGCSE board and the International Baccalaureate. The Principal of the school is Mr. Don Gardner. The school is in the same compound as the GD Somani Memorial School, the BD Somani Institute of Fashion, as well as Kindergarten and Nursery programmes.
The first batch of BD Somani International School completed their IB Diploma in May, 2008. Many students have gained entrance to universities in the USA and the United Kingdom.
Its students take part in CAS activities. Students volunteer to go to places like the Vatsalya Institution, The Spastic Society of India located in Colaba, and service in the neighboring Fisherman's Colony.
Its first batch graduated in May, 2008. It started its 9th and 10th grade classes in August 2008, making its student body much larger. The school was started by Mrs. Aradhana Somani who also runs the GD Somani School.
Facilities
The school building is seven storied with a large ground. The school premises house 13,000 square feet (1,200 m2) of teaching space containing classrooms and laboratories.
Every classroom has a display and writing boards, lockers for students, broadband Internet access and air conditioning. In addition to this, there is schoolwide wireless internet access for the school's 11th and 12th graders. There are laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology and teaching rooms for Art, Social Science, Languages, Computer Studies, and Mathematics.
There is also a canteen in the school premises which serves nutritious meals, all run by the G. D. Somani Memorial School.
The school has an equipped library with access to a number of books and resources, the internet and photocopying/printing facilities.
Student Council
The council has 3 core positions: President and 2 vice presidents. The council is partly democratic, elected by students from 8 through 12th grade. The council is changed in October each year.
The school has four houses: Eagle, Falcon, Hawk and Kite. Each house has one house captain, which is elected by its members.
Field Trips
There are many various field trips taken by all grades. Every year all grades go to Igatpuri, with Grades 8-12, and 6,7 separate, and to Andaman and Nicobar Islands with Grades 7-12, while Grade 6 does robotics with Lego Mindstorms.

Examinations
For Grades 1-4 there are no exams. Grade 5 only have Cambridge Primary Checkpoint examinations. Grades 6-12 have semester exams, and finals and constant tests after every topic. Grades 8 have Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint Examinations which is taken by the syllables of Checkpoint book 1,2,and 3 which is fought to them in grades 6,7,and 8.
