Azerbaijan has participated in the Türkvizyon Song Contest twice since its début in 2013. The Azeri broadcaster, Azad Azerbaijan TV (ATV), has been the organizer of the Azeri entry since its début in the contest.[1][2] In 2013, Azerbaijan's first entry at Türkvizyon, Farid Hasanov, won the inaugural contest making them the most successful country so far.[3] In the 2014 contest Azerbaijan was first eliminated in the semifinal, but the day afterwards a voting irregularity was confirmed and Azerbaijan made it to the final. In the final the country placed 9th.
History
Azerbaijan made their debut in the 2013 festival, in Eskişehir, Turkey.[1] The Azeri broadcaster Azad Azerbaijan TV organised the entry selection, which took place on 16 November 2013.[2] It was announced on 20 July 2014 that Azerbaijan would be making their second appearance at the 2014 Contest.[4]
