Ayiroor is a village in Thiruvananthapuram district in the state of Kerala, India..[1]

"Ayroor" is the most commonly used spelling.

This village is famous for its temples. There are three famous temples in this village: Anjumurthy temple, Thrimpallur temple, Kochu Thampratti temple and Ayiravilly temple. And L.L.Land Mulluvilla is also in Ayiroor. The name 'Ayiroor' itself originates from 'Anjumurthy', which means five idols.

In the Ayiroor village, a place named 'Ayroor' located more than 100 Feet above the sea level,is one of the beautiful place to watch. Hills and valleys and the famous St.Thomas Church are main attractions of Ayroor. The Lake and Sea views from the Church compound is really unforgettable. One of the oldest school in the village - St.Thomas U.P.S, also situated here. East part of ayiroor Mr. Sasidharan (Blade meesha) also living here

Ayiroor is on the banks of the river Ayiroorpuzha, one of the smallest rivers in Kerala. On the southwest side of this village is the trivandrum shornur lake. There is one nationalized bank—Indian Overseas Bank. Educational institutions include Government Upper Primary School, Government Higher Secondary School Palayamkunnu and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Model School. There are also a few private hospitals. Varkala-Ayroor- Parippally and Varkala-Ayroor-Paravoor roads pass through this village. The people of Ayiroor are generally employed in the service sector. A large proportion of them work outside India, mainly in the Middle East and the United Kingdom. There are a few cashew nut factories in this village. The nearest railway station is in Varkala. The village has three post office and one telephone exchange.
