Aye Auto (Malayalam: ഏയ് ഓട്ടോ) is a 1990 Malayalam romantic-musical film directed by Venu Nagavalli[2] and starring Mohanlal and Rekha in the lead roles.[3] The film showcases the life of auto drivers in the city of Calicut.
Plot
Sudhi (Mohanlal) is a poor auto-rickshaw driver who meets Meenakshi(Rekha), granddaughter of a well to do family. Sudhi and Meenakshi fall in love but face strong opposition from her family; their only support being her grand father, Krishna Pillai (Thikkurisi Sukumaran Nair).
The film portrays life of auto-rickshaw drivers in a realistic manner and their struggle for survival.

The film was a huge blockbuster and 2nd highest grosser after His Highness Abdullah in Kerala box office in 1990.
