Axel Bellinghausen (Bello) (born 17 May 1983) is a German football player who last played for Fortuna Düsseldorf in the Bundesliga.

Career

Born in Siegburg, North Rhine-Westphalia[1] he started at the age of five playing football at TuS 05 Oberpleis. In 1993, when he was ten years old, he went to Bayer 04 Leverkusen. He left Bayer 04 Leverkusen five years later to play for Fortuna Düsseldorf where he became a professional football player in 2001. In 2005, he signed with Kaiserslautern, where he was made team captain in March 2008. On 30 June 2009, he left the club to join FC Augsburg, where he played until 2012. Playing for the FCA, Bello helped achieving promotion to Bundesliga in 2011 and avoiding relegation the following year. He signed for his old club Fortuna Düsseldorf as a free agent in 2012.
