Awkishqucha (Wanka Quechua awkish to water, to irrigate / to give to drink,[3] Quechua awki prince / a mythical figure of the Andean culture, qucha lake,[4][5] hispanicized spellings Auquiscocha, Auquishcocha) is a lake in the Cordillera Blanca in the Andes of Peru located in the Ancash Region, Carhuaz Province, Shilla District.[6] It is situated at a height of about 4,310 metres (14,140 ft). Awkishqucha lies at the foot of the mountains Chiqllarahu in the north and Wallqan in the southeast, southwest of the lakes Wallqaqucha and Chiqllaqucha.
