The Australian Under 20 Rugby Championship is an annual rugby union competition hosted by the Australian Rugby Union for men's junior teams with an under-20 age requirement.[1][2] It is contested by teams from Australian states and territories as well as invited national representative sides.[3][4]

Format

The competition for the Australian U20 Championships is played over two stages in February and March each year. The Southern States U20 Championship is held first, and a representative team from that tournament is selected to participate in the National U20 Championship top division.[5]

The inaugural event in 2014 featured ten teams. The Western Australia U20s won the Southern States tournament,[6] and the National Championship was won by the New South Wales Under 20s.[2]
