Australian College of Midwives
The Australian College of Midwives (ACM) is the peak professional organisation representing midwives and midwifery policy in Australia.
Key strategies of the ACM are to:
- Provide a unified political voice for the midwifery profession
- Support midwives to reach their full potential
- Ensure all childbearing women have access to continuity of care by a known midwife
- Set professional midwifery practice and education standards across Australia.
The ACM is a federated body consisting of eight separate State and Territory Branches that make up the National College. The national office is based in Canberra, Australia. There are currently more than 5,000 members of the ACM.
The President of the College is Sue Kruske and the Executive Officer is Ann Kinnear.
