Austin Civic Orchestra

The Austin Civic Orchestra is a non-profit volunteer-based semi-professional orchestra with 80 musicians based in Austin, Texas. It was founded in 1977 by Mac Payne. ACO's mission is to educate and entertain the public with classical music. The orchestra's members are from all walks of life and ages from sixteen to seventy-five. ACO generally performs several concerts per season, including pops concerts, holiday concerts and the Pearl Amster Youth Concerto Festival, which highlights the achievements of local young musicians.

Dr. Lois Ferrari[1] has been the ACO Music Director and conductor for ten seasons and is also Professor of Music at Southwestern University in Georgetown.[2]
